National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ambassador Umar Iliya Damagum, has condemned the recent killing of innocent Nigerians in Mafa community of Tarmuwa local government area of Yobe State, describing it as senseless.
Damagum made the condemnation on Tuesday while commiserating with the government and the people of Yobe State on the sad incident.
“We thought the era of Boko Haram senselessness had gone, only for us to wake up and hear this kind of incident,” he lamented.
He said to people like him who are from the Yobe state, the massacre was something of great concern, thereby defying all political differences to identify with the state.
“It is high time for all of us to close all ranks and make sure that we have the desired peace and development to move the state forward,” he added.
Ambassador Damagum commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for his nonpartisan posture in dealing with the affairs of the state.
“We’re with you and the people of Yobe State in this time of grief”, he said.
Similarly, former Senate President, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan, has paid a sympathy visit to the government and the people of the state.
