Michiganders can’t wait to cast their ballots after seeing the results of the state’s very first “I Voted” sticker contest.
On Wednesday, the Great Lakes State unveiled the nine designs that topped the statewide competition, which brought in an impressive 480 entries.
Fifty-seven thousand people voted for their favorite sticker. Online, one winner really stood out from the pack.
An illustration by middle schooler Jane Hynous of Grosse Pointe had people howling after Bridge Michigan reporter Jonathan Oosting shared it on X, the site formerly known as Twitter.
People were begging for a chance to get their hands on a copy of the design, which features a preposterously shredded werewolf ripping his shirt off in front of a marker-drawn American flag and striped versions of the words “I voted.”
“I’m in Ohio, but I once lived and voted in Michigan,” someone posted on X. “May I have one of these pretty, pretty please?”
“Immaculate Stars and Stripes. Werewolf. 10 pack abs. Bulging veins,” wrote an X user with an anthropomorphic fox as their profile photo. “All right I’m in.”
Another simply declared, “I DEMAND THIS TO BE NATIONWIDE” while many others sent their compliments to Jane, the artist.
In a statement shared on Wednesday, Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson said she was floored by the response the contest received.
“I was overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and creativity of the people of our great state,” she told Bridge Michigan. “Now, let’s use the same energy in casting a vote this November.”
Joining Jane Hynous’ patriotic werewolf are eight other equally charming designs, including an elk with rainbow sunglasses and a baseball cap, a childlike scrawl that says “I Voted Yay” and a beautiful illustration of Michigan’s state fish, the brook trout.
All nine stickers will be available for Michigan voters when Election Day rolls around on Nov. 5.
