Screen icon Mark Hamill called out Donald Trump for his “childish” habit of mispronouncing Vice President Kamala Harris’ first name, saying it conveys “disrespect & contempt.”

But rather than hope the former president comes around, the “Star Wars” actor suggested another approach.

“When they go low, we should respond in kind,” he wrote on X. “From now on, don’t call him ‘Don’. Call him ‘Done’.”

Trump has offered of various and inconsistent explanations for why he repeatedly butchers the vice president’s name.

“Some people think I mispronounce it on purpose, but actually I’ve heard it said about seven different ways,” he said last month. “There are a lot of ways.”

Harris has said her first name just one way, but Trump and right-wing trolls have made saying it wrong into a thing. That led to her nieces offering a pronunciation lesson at last month’s Democratic National Convention,

Ultimately, however, Hamill has it right: Trump admitted last month that it was essentially an act of disrespect and contempt.

“I couldn’t care less if I mispronounce it or not,” Trump said at a Christian event. “I couldn’t care less.”
