A Florida politician’s request that users of X, formerly Twitter, wish his friend a “Happy Birthday” failed hard on Tuesday — because the friend was none other than Roger Stone.

The longtime GOP operative and adviser to former President Donald Trump turned 72 on Tuesday, and Florida’s Republican chief financial officer, Jimmy Patronis, wanted to make it special for him.

So he took to X, formerly Twitter, with a simple request: “Will you help me wish @RogerJStoneJr a very Happy Birthday?!!”

The responses made it clear that many people on social media aren’t fond of Stone, who was sentenced to 40 months in prison after being convicted of multiple felonies, including witness tampering and lying to Congress.

Trump pardoned Stone in December 2020.

The birthday greetings Stone received on Tuesday included declarations that “he is everything that is disgusting in politics” and a “moral degenerate and scumbag.”

One X user said they would “sooner pluck out every one of my body hairs” than wish him a happy birthday.
