Joe Rogan said nice things about Robert F. Kennedy Jr. — and, boy, does Donald Trump seem pissed.
In fact, the GOP presidential nominee suggested on Friday that UFC fans could turn on Rogan, a podcaster and mixed martial arts enthusiast, the next time he shows up at a match.
It all started when Rogan was speaking about politicians on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” explaining that the independent White House candidate is “the only one that makes sense to me.”
“He doesn’t attack people. He attacks actions and ideas,” Rogan said on Thursday’s episode. “But he’s much more reasonable and intelligent.”
His comments put Trump’s followers in meltdown mode, believing that Rogan had effectively endorsed Kennedy.
But a short time later, Rogan clarified on X, formerly Twitter, that this was not his intention:
For the record, this isn’t an endorsement. This is me saying that I like RFKjr as a person, and I really appreciate the way he discusses things with civility and intelligence. I think we could use more of that in this world.
Still, Trump wasn’t happy to hear Rogan speak glowingly about his rival. In a post on his Truth Social platform, he suggested that people may boo the podcaster “the next time he enters the UFC Ring.”
It remains to be seen if Rogan will indeed get booed: Though he is known to provide commentary at MMA fights, he is not scheduled to do so at the UFC’s next pay-per-view event set for Aug. 17, according to the outlet MMA Fighting.
Of course, people had thoughts about the former president’s reaction to Rogan’s Kennedy rave.
But Rogan wasn’t the only podcaster who was put on the spot over Kennedy.
After political commentator Tim Pool on Friday said that he was voting for Kennedy, the candidate reached out to thank him “for your confidence in me but most of all for your steadfast defense of the Constitution and relentless love for our country.”
That landed Pool in an awkward position, pushing him to clarify that he had just been “trolling the haters” and actually intends to vote for Trump.
