Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) isn’t too bothered by GOP vice presidential nominee JD Vance’s latest dig.

During a Friday appearance at Cheyney University, the country’s first historically Black university, a reporter asked Shapiro about comments Vance made during an interview on the “Full Send Podcast” in which he compared Shapiro’s voice to “a really bad impression of Barack Obama.”

Shapiro laughed off the insult, calling it “weird.”

“Barack Obama was probably our most gifted orator of my time,” Shapiro said.

Shapiro, who is among those being considered as Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2024 running mate, then lobbed his own insults at Vance.

“It is real hard being honest with the American people when you’re not being honest with yourself,” Shapiro said. “JD Vance is a total phoney-baloney. He is the most inorganic candidate I think I have ever seen on the national stage.”

“He doesn’t know what he believes, and that is why it is impossible for him to articulate a coherent message to the American people,” Shapiro added, noting Vance is “not exactly off to a good start.”

“It is clear that Donald Trump really has buyer’s remorse with his pick,” he added.

Trump and Vance both spent the weeks after the Republican National Convention defending the Ohio senator over his controversial past comments about “childless cat ladies,” among other things.

Shapiro made it clear that, should he be chosen as Harris’ running mate, he wouldn’t be worried about taking on Vance.

“If he wants to sling insults my direction, ... let him do it, that’s fine. Bring it on. I’ll be ready for whatever the hell JD Vance throws my way.”
