CNN’s Jake Tapper on Thursday called out independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over a new campaign ad featuring an out-of-context comment from the anchor.

The spot is “so misleading and deceptive it should be taken down at once,” Tapper urged on X, formerly Twitter.

“The quotes are falsely clipped together,” the broadcaster explained.

The ad, below, attempts to portray Kennedy as the only natural alternative to President Joe Biden, who has faced growing calls to quit the race following his debate performance, and former President Donald Trump.

It begins with a misrepresented clip of Tapper saying, “Panic has set in as Democrats across the country are shocked by a startling revelation following Thursday night’s debate … Joe Biden is not fit for candidacy.”

Similarly decontextualized comments from anchors at CNN, MSNBC and Fox News follow. The clip remains on the Elon Musk-owned platform, 16 hours after Tapper requested it be removed.
