The Senate Minority Leader, Senator Abba Moro, has appealed to members of the Benue South Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to vote for credible candidates during the forthcoming congresses of the party.

He admonished them to avoid dwelling on issues that divide them and instead embrace peace and unity within the party.

Moro gave the charge on Sunday during the PDP zonal meeting at Leach Hotel, Otukpo, Benue State.

He said, “If we are genuine and sincere to ourselves, we must ponder over what will unite and bring us together. We are not here to ponder over who is going to be the next Senator, House of Representatives, etc. Let’s put our past behind us and strategize for a better future.

“Must we become governor before we contribute our quota to the development of the senatorial district? Those beating the drums of war shall be disappointed because there is no war here.

“We should not dwell on who we are supporting and who we are not supporting but consider our positions in the interest of the party.”

Senator Moro stated that those interested in contesting for any position should go ahead and buy forms to enrich the party.

He said the PDP is not in any intensive care, contrary to insinuations by many people, and assured that the party will still bounce back to power.

“Those who worked for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue South should come and point out to us what Governor Alia has done for the senatorial district after one year in office,” he added.
