The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Osun State has called on the state government to expedite action on critical infrastructure development, particularly in the areas of road construction, healthcare, and education, to ensure a better life for the citizens of the state.
The call was made by the party in a statement by the Chairman, Wale Adebayo, on Sunday in Osogbo.
The party admonished the state government to take immediate action to repair critical road corridors which are in deplorable condition.
“The festive season is a time of increased travel, and the deplorable state of key roads poses a significant risk to the safety of citizens.
“It is unfortunate that the government failed to take cognizance of the festive period to put control measures in place to direct vehicular movement. This shows that the welfare of the people is not in the mind of the government.
“APM demands that the government takes concrete steps to address the infrastructure deficit in Osun State, particularly LAMECO-Okefia-Old Garage, which is in a bad state, ensuring safe and easy travel for all citizens during this festive season and beyond.”
The party prayed for peace, prosperity, and progress in Osun State and Nigeria at large.
DAILY POST recalled that the state government had embarked on the rehabilitation and facelift of critical infrastructure in the state.
The state government had undertaken the construction of five flyovers in Osogbo, Ikirun, Owode-Ede, and Ile-Ife towns and also the expansion of major roads within the state capital and other important towns.
