A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and former Minister of State, Mines and Steel Development, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, has stated that the deceitfulness being displayed by most leaders in Abia State is undermining the party’s electoral prospects.
Ogah spoke at the weekend while answering questions from journalists shortly after an enlarged meeting of Abia stakeholders of the APC held in Umuahia, the state capital.
According to the ex-minister, “The way forward is peace in the party. That has to unite every leader in the party. Because If there is no peace, we are going nowhere.
“And I can tell you free of charge that what we need in Abia APC is peace and sincerity of purpose. Not about lying to the people, tell people the truth. And once you are sincere, the party will move forward.
“What has held this party down in Abia state is insincerity of most of the leaders. And I can honestly tell you that is the problem.
“The leader of the party should be able to put everybody together. Bring all of us at the same table, and present every issue on top of the table and we tell ourselves the truth.”
Ogah, a former Abia governorship candidate of the APC also lauded the developmental strides of the President Bola Tinubu-led Federal Government in the last eleven months.
The foremost industrialist said, “To access his achievement is something that can take you years to express, but I can tell you the President has done well for the economy of the country. And the economy is having a better outlook. I believe that the future is bright for the country”.
