The suspended chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State, has said he remains the chairman of the party.

According to the embattled chairman, his purported suspension will not stand, stressing that it was politically motivated.

Adams was suspended on Tuesday by the State Working Committee, SWC, of the state chapter of the party over alleged anti-party activities.

His suspension was ratified by the nine SWC members who decried the infiltration of the opposition party by the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

According to Adams, the suspension was done in order for those involved to carry out what he described as their alleged agenda for the Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency Bye election in February.

He further maintained that some unscrupulous elements are out to destroy the democratic values that the party is known for.

“This will not stand; we know what they are trying to do; their plans are to remove me so that they can execute their evil agenda for the Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency Bye election, and we will not fall for that,” he said.
