One of the most promising debuts in Indian cinema this year was music composer Amrit Ramnath who made a rather soulful first impression with his work in Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Varshangalkku Shesham. The Tamil song “Nyaabagam” became quite the sensation, and now, he is set to make his direct Tamil debut with Siddharth’s next with director Sri Ganesh.

Tentatively titled Siddharth 40, the film marks Sri Ganesh’s third film after 8 Thottakkal and Kuruthi Aattam. Interestingly, he has worked with three different composers in his films so far. While 8 Thottaakkal had music by KS Sundaramurthy, Yuvan Shankar Raja composed for Atharvaa’s Kuruthi Aattam. Billed to be an emotional drama, Siddharth 40 will be backed by Arun Viswa’s Shanthi Talkies banner, who made quite the splash with their first film, Maaveeran.

Siddharth, who was last seen in Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2, directed by Shankar, is also part of the third instalment of the franchise. Apart from Indian 3, he will also be seen in the romantic film Miss You, and Test, the directorial debut of producer Sashikanth. Test has him star alongside Nayanthara for the first time, and reunites him with Madhavan, his Aaidha Ezhuthu co-star.
