“Daily Show” correspondent Ronny Chieng said North Carolina GOP gubernatorial nominee Mark Robinson’s long history of virulent anti-gay and anti-trans comments finally caught up with him on Thursday.
“If there’s one thing history has taught us, it’s that when a politician is this outspoken about how gross gay and trans people are, there will be nothing in his internet history that will embarrass him at all,” he said, then played the breaking news of Robinson’s latest scandal.
CNN reported that Robinson ― a MAGA insider whom Donald Trump has called “Martin Luther King on steroids” ― had been active on a porn website where he referred to himself as a “black NAZI,” indicated support for slavery and said he enjoyed trans porn.
“This is the craziest combination of scandals I’ve ever seen,” Chieng said. “But the most insane part of this is that he said all of this stuff in the comments section of a porn site!”
Chieng found that just stunning.
“Nobody should be writing in the comments section of a porn site. You know what you should be commenting on a porn site? Nothing!” he said. “You’re spending way too much time on porn sites if you’re getting into your views on slavery.”
