Social media users are deeply curious about what was said between Jennifer Lopez and Matt Damon — the longtime friend of fellow actor Ben Affleck — after the two were seen talking while holding hands at an after-party event in Toronto last week.
Photos circulating in the press showed Lopez and Damon seemingly having a heartfelt conversation following the premiere of “Unstoppable,” their new sports biopic, at the Toronto International Film Festival on Friday.
People on X, formerly Twitter, were amused by the fact that the two shared such an evidently tender moment, since Lopez and Affleck are now divorcing after two years of marriage.
An unnamed source told People magazine that Lopez and Damon had engaged in a “long, deep” conversation, but that the two also shared moments of laughter during the exchange.
“JLo getting Matt in the divorce is the ultimate plot twist,” one X user wrote about the photos in the press.
Another wrote, “them hanging out after the divorce and just having a hand in hand prayer in the middle of an afterparty im crying, ben fully broke them.”
Lopez stars in “Unstoppable,” while Damon serves as a producer. Affleck, who is also a producer on the film, did not go to the premiere. Damon attended with his wife, Luciana Damon.
Lopez’s talk with Damon wasn’t the only buzzy moment to come out of her appearance at the Toronto after-party.
She was also seen having a candid conversation with “Unstoppable” co-star Bobby Cannavale, with a video from The Hollywood Reporter appearing to catch her repeatedly saying, “I’m a bad picker.”
Lopez could’ve been talking about something other than the demise of her high-profile relationship with Affleck, but the clip got tongues wagging about their split regardless.
The “Can’t Get Enough” singer filed for divorce from Affleck last month, following months of speculation about their relationship.
