An arrest has reportedly been made in connection to the overdose death of actor Matthew Perry.
Law enforcement officials told multiple publications that an arrest was made in Southern California on Thursday in connection to Perry’s death. The 54-year-old star of the hit sitcom “Friends” died in October after overdosing on ketamine and drowning in his hot tub.
In May, authorities, including the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, opened an investigation into Perry’s death.
Perry, who had been outspoken about his struggles with addiction, had previously undergone ketamine treatment. The medical examiner who determined Perry’s cause of death noted that he had levels of ketamine in his blood equivalent to the amount used during general anesthesia.
More details on the arrest, including the name of the person arrested, will be released at a news conference later on Thursday, The New York Times reported.
