Popular American singer, Sean Kingston has been indicted for participating in a $1 million wire fraud scheme.
Sean Kingston was indicted on Friday, alongside his mother, Janice Turner, in a Miami federal court.
The scheme allegedly involved making payments through banks that never went through, resulting in accruing an excess of $1 million in property.
The duo were charged with one count of conspiracy to commit fraud and five counts of wire fraud. Following their alleged attempt to defraud sellers of high-end speciality vehicles, jewellery, and other goods purchased through fraudulent documents.
The United States Attorney’s Office of the Southern District of Florida explained that the defendants “unjustly enriched themselves by falsely representing that they had executed monetary payment transfers.”
DAILY POST recalls that the singer was arrested in May 2024, in California. His South Florida mansion was raided on the same day and his mother was arrested.
