Steely Dan is requesting a little dirty work from the house band at the Republican National Convention.

After the band Sixwire performed the Dan’s iconic song, “Reelin’ In the Years,” as part of its dad-rock-heavy RNC setlist, the band’s official Facebook page posted a message suggesting a different track instead: the anti-Trump ballad “Tin Foil Hat.”

Donald Fagan, the band’s sole surviving cofounder, also shared the message on his personal Facebook page.

The song in question isn’t a Steely Dan tune, but a Todd Rundgren track featuring Fagan ― and it’s very specifically about Trump.

Sixwire has won bipartisan acclaim on social media for its performances throughout the event. Ironically, a number of the songs the band has covered are from acts where the artists and/or their estates have distanced themselves from Trump, such as Tom Petty, Foo Fighters and Cheap Trick.
