Pat Sajak hasn’t fully walked away from the “Wheel of Fortune” world.
Sajak will be taking his “final spin” hosting “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” this fall after retiring as host of the syndicated version of the game show in June, according to an ABC news release.
The new season premieres Oct. 7 just as Ryan Seacrest, joined by Sajak’s longtime co-host Vanna White, is set to take the helm as host of “Wheel of Fortune” in September.
The “Celebrity Wheel of Fortune” job adds to Sajak’s other post-retirement plans, which include a stage production that he’s starring in next year.
The news arrives roughly one month after Sajak bid farewell to “Wheel of Fortune” as he declared it to be an “incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes, night after night, year after year, decade after decade.”
Seacrest, in a message to Sajak last month, congratulated the host on his “incredible run” at the show.
“Your dedication, charm, and wit have made the show a beloved part of American television for decades,” Seacrest wrote on Instagram.
He continued, “Your partnership with Vanna has been nothing short of iconic, and together, you’ve created countless wonderful memories for viewers. You’ve set the standard for hosts everywhere, and this marks the end of an era. Best wishes for all your future endeavors!”
