Leave it up to Katy Perry to be the dark horse.
The pop star completely won Vogue magazine’s fashion event, “Vogue World: Paris,” on Sunday when she made a surprise appearance on the runway wearing a gorgeous Noir by Kei Ninomiya gown.
The beautiful, albeit risqué, dress featured floral details around the skirt and extreme cutouts that elegantly hugged Perry’s body.
Photos of the “Woman’s World” singer’s dress are certainly stunning, but videos shared on social media that show Perry stomping down the runway at the Place Vendôme venue in sync with the beats of live drumming is the only way to truly appreciate the beauty of the garment Vogue described as a “geometric naked dress.”
Social media users on X, formerly Twitter, absolutely adored the gown — and the model who wore it like a glove.
Although the former “American Idol” judge possessed a “sexy confident” vibe on the runway, Perry admitted that she felt the exact opposite in a behind-the-scenes video she posted on TikTok after her appearance.
“I modeled it. It was giving ... I was giving. I modeled. Anna [Wintour] said model, and I said, ‘Mmm,’” she said as she pursed her lips together in a self-deprecating way and took a sip of champagne.
In another video Perry posted on Instagram, the “Firework” singer showed how nervous she was before the show by asking fellow singer FKA twigs and model Cara Delevingne for advice on how to pull off a runway walk.
“Just make sure it’s not like, dead behind the eyes. No, make sure it looks like you’re going somewhere, but not in a pop star way,” FKA twigs told Perry in the short clip.
“I’ve only ever been a pop star?” Perry responded.
Well, now you’re also a model, Katy, so don’t be so hot N cold about it, OK?
