“The Daily Show” hosts Desi Lydic and Ronny Chieng on Tuesday went to town on the GOP’s newest batch of “out-there” hopefuls, with Chieng ripping them as “human clickbait candidates.”
They mocked Minnesota Senate candidate Royce White for turning the race into a “Jerry Springer” episode with his insulting of women as “mouthy” and questionable campaign contributions including $1,200 at a strip club.
Book-burning and other stunts from Valentina Gomez, who is running for Missouri secretary of state, were also highlighted.
The pair later cut to correspondent Josh Johnson who suggested new jobs for them ― such as village idiot, lighthouse keeper and snake oil salesman.
