The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has said it won’t prosecute embattled rapper and music executive, Sean Combs, aka Diddy, despite the recent emergence of video footage of him reportedly assaulting his former signee and estranged girlfriend, Cassie, in a Los Angeles hotel hallway.

In a statement, the office said “if the conduct depicted occurred in 2016, unfortunately we would be unable to charge as the conduct occurred beyond the timeline where a crime of assault can be prosecuted”.

The office added that the law enforcement hasn’t presented any case related to the attack depicted in the video against Diddy.

The LA Attorney’s office, however, urged victims and witnesses to present their reports to the law enforcement or seek support from the Bureau of Victims Services.

DAILY POST reported that video footage obtained by CNN, captured Diddy repeatedly kicking and throwing objects at his then-girlfriend Cassie in a Los Angeles hotel hallway in 2016.

The emergence of the footage is against the backdrop of the multiple sexual assault charges being pressed against Diddy.
