Billionaire businessman Elon Musk has expressed strong desire to buy shares of American multinational mass media and entertainment conglomerate, The Walt Disney Company, commonly known as Disney.
He, however, said he would do so only if activist investor Nelson Peltz was elected to Disney’s board.
Recall that Peltz lost a challenge to Disney’s board with majority of stakeholders voting against him.
Reacting, Musk, who was recently appointed as Disney’s Chief Diversity Officer, said he believed that Peltz has a lot to offer the company going by his track record.
On his X handle, he wrote: “Nelson Peltz should definitely be on the Disney board!
“He would help reform the company, improve the quality of product and generally serve in the best interests of shareholders, as he has done at many other companies.
“This would significantly improve Disney’s share price.
“While I don’t own any Disney shares today, I would definitely buy their shares if Nelson were elected to the board.
“His track record is excellent.”
