It has been more than five days now since Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (TMKOC) actor Gurucharan Singh went missing. For the unversed, Gurcharan, who played Sodhi on the popular TV show, left his home in Delhi to come to Mumbai on April 22. However, when he didn’t reach Mumbai or return home, his father lodged a missing complaint. Following the investigation, the police registered a case of kidnapping under section 365. With the investigation underway, Indianexpress.com spoke to his co-stars from Tarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, and Gurucharan’s co-star Mandar Chandwadkar, who plays Bhide, shared that the actor frequently traveled between Delhi and Mumbai.
Mandar also shared that he last met Gurucharan in December. He said, “It’s really surprising for me as well. He keeps travelling between Delhi and Mumbai. Last we met at Dilip Joshi’s son’s wedding in December. We had a nice time together, but since then we have not been in touch. Just hoping and praying all is well.”

Coincidentally, the last time Gurucharan Singh posted something on social media was also five days ago. It was a birthday wish for his father.

As per a PTI report, a team from the Delhi Police Special Cell visited Gurucharan Singh’s home in Delhi’s Palam area to investigate his mysterious disappearance. A CCTV footage showed the missing actor crossing the road with a backpack around the Delhi airport. The police also revealed that they had found some vital clues about his movements through technical investigations.
A few reports earlier suggested that Gurucharan was not in the best of health before he went missing. Reportedly, the actor had high blood pressure and was not eating properly. He had even gotten health check-ups done a few days before his disappearance.

Actor Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, who played Gurucharan’s wife on TMKOC, had also reacted to the news and told us, “I have no idea. Not in touch with him since June 2023. I hope he is safe and sound.”
